Armchair Philosophy Podcast Ep.008

Hey everyone, the Armchair Philosophy Podcast is back! This week's episode is all about living it up and living it well. Alessandro and Troilus ask themselves "what is the good life?" General mayhem and stupid comments ensue, up until they get into a fight as to whether or not there can be a definite "good life". Universalists, relativists, primativists, ethics, virtues, intended actions oh my! Listen in to what these two had to say and try to answer the question yourself: "Is there actually such a thing as 'the good life'?" Let us know in the comments below!

  1. I think that the definition of a "good life" cannot be defined as 1 thing only, it is subjective for me. It ends in the same way as an Aesthetics discussion, as for the "beautiful" is not defined as one thing only.
It depends of many factors, such as life events, society in which one lives, prospects of life and proper opinions. The good life for a person living in a farm village in Southeast Asia is not the same as the good life for a person living in a Big City.
I think that the only thing that can be put as a definition of good life as the accomplishment of convenience and safety. The quality of life, that is the good life. Such as a home (anywhere you live), quality food (independently of flavors, but of not being rotten), clean water, and basically everything for one to be happy with what one's doing.
